Merry

This week Make it Monday at Papertrey Ink was about die cut kissing.  I came up with a Christmas card using Freshly Fallen die and stamp set.  I used a stamp from SSS One with Nature stamp set to ink up (spring rain) and stamp onto a Freshly Fallen die cut, then stamped on my card stock. I did this three times to make the pattern I wanted.  Then, I stamped the coordinating image from the stamp set into the spaces and used matte multi medium to add glass glitter to the centers of some of the images.  The merry die cut is from WPlus9.
I'm also putting this in to Addicted to CAS where the code word is BLUE, and SSS Wednesday Challenge where it's Anything Goes.

Let Hope

Time Out has a great photo inspiration for challenge #38.   My blue tones are different, but I used the silver (embossed) anchor, the stripes and a pop of red. The middle stripe looks grey but it's stamped with an old, quite dry silver pigment ink pad so IRL it has flashes of silver on the edges of the image.  I stamped around the edge of the card base with the same stamp and pale ink as the top stripe to tie the layers together.  I'll also put this into SSS Wednesday Challenge

Grateful Me

I love the sketch this week over at CAS Colours & Sketches.   As much as I want it to still be summer, there is no denying the leaves are already starting to turn colour (plus our Canadian Thanksgiving is only about 7 weeks away!) so a fall themed card it is.  I'll also link up to SSS Wednesday Challenge for Anything Goes.

ETA: I'm very happy my card was chosen as a winner at CAS Colours & Sketches!

The smallest leaf of the SSS One with Nature set is the perfect size for this layout.  I stamped the solid image in Scarlet Jewel, Canyon Clay, Ripe Avocado and Butter Bar (the photos show the colors a bit more vibrant than IRL), once dry, I stamped the leaf outline in the same colour.  The grateful me sentiment is from Fancy Thanks  (Essentials by Ellen) Fancy.  A bit of gold splatter finishes it off. I really love how it turned out!

CASology Plaid

It's a joy that I get to be (my first time ever!) Guest Designer for CASology this week!  I'm so excited to do this.

The cue card this week is Plaid and plaid makes me think of two things, blankets and Christmas.  I decided to go the Christmas direction.  What do you think of when you think of plaid?

I used Papertrey Ink Plaid Builders stamp set to Silver Emboss a plaid design on three Lawn Fawn stitched rectangles.  The rule of three's works great with CAS cards, as long as you leave lots of that nice open white space.  I added a little pop of color with the sentiment (PTI) and three small gems. I love the shine of the embossing.

Thanks to Hazel, Melissa and the rest of the CASology design team for having me as Guest Designer this week. It was a great experience.
